PBDLD Program Introduction

The PBDLD program consists of five courses, each of which is designed to be completed within a six-month individualized-study course contract period. If you were to take one course at a time and complete each course within the designated contract period (i.e., without obtaining any course extensions), you would complete the program within 2.5 years. However, because the courses are offered in the individualized-study mode, if you are able to devote more time to your studies you will be able to complete the program sooner. For those students who wish to take the program at a slower pace, your admission to the PBDLD program remains open for five years and can be renewed, if necessary.

The fifth course of the PBDLD program (LGST 559) is a final, integrated project that challenges you to bring your newly acquired skills and knowledge to bear on an original legislative drafting project. This project is designed to allow you to demonstrate how you have consolidated and integrated the knowledge that you brought to, and gained during, the course of your studies.

For further information on PBDLD faculty and staff, see the Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Legislative Drafting Faculty page.
